The Hackintosh!

One Mac zealot decided to build his own Intel Mac. While this violates Apple's EULA... it is pretty cool.

The Hackintosh is a home-built Intel Mac which can run Mac OS X Leopard. This Mac is powered by a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB or RAM, and sports a 500 GB SATA HDD. It also boasts an NVidia GeForce 7300 GPU and the hardware total was just under $800. Apple will likely have problems with this sort of "Mac building", it does show that there is a market for Mac homebuilder.
