Portraits and Prints: Your Own Personal Print Shop
Portraits and Prints is a fun little $30 piece
of shareware from Econ Technologies.
This application is designed to do one simple
thing. Allow you to create photo projects from templates and then print them, or
save them to a file. When I first downloaded this program, I didn’t think
I would like it very much… but quickly after I started using it, I
discovered how much fun it can
be.
Portraits and Prints allows you to import your pictures from iPhoto (or any standard picture format). Once imported you can select a template and place photos on it to begin creating your photo projects. There are several templates included with the program. It also features a handy Templates Manager to see your existing templates and download additional templates at no charge. There are many templates available, some featuring holiday themes.
Portraits and Prints has a simple interface that is quick and easy to learn. You can make things holiday greeting cards, calendars, and even collages. It allows you to zoom in and out, rotate photos, remove redeye, and even enhance your photos. This program does a lot for only $30.
After creating some holiday greeting cards in only a few minutes, I decided to try something fun, so I created a Wanted poster for one of my friends. He has a birthday later this month… guess what he’ll be getting.
