New Macbooks... Sort Of
The MacBook line was updated today to include
speed bumps, more RAM, and larger hard drives. The new laptops ship in three
standard configurations:
1. 2.0 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD, white finish, $1099
2. 2.16 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB HDD, white finish, $1299
3. 2.16 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, black finish, $1499
All models include 802.11n networking, Intel 950 graphics, and a built-in iSight. Build to order models are also available. This is a decent update to Apple's laptop line, but still does not fill the "no new Macs" void. So far in 2007, Apple has released the AppleTV, the 8-core Mac Pro, and the updated MacBooks. We can only wonder what is around the corner for WWDC.
