NAB Releases
Apple released some new stuff today at the National Association of Broadcasters
convention.
The rumors about the NAB event came to fruition
today with Apple releasing a new version of Final Cut
Studio and unveiling Final Cut Server. The new version of Final Cut
Studio includes Final Cut Pro 6, Motion
3, DVD Studio Pro 4, Compressor 3, Soundtrack Pro 2, and a new application, Color. The new Final Cut Server allows several
networked Macs to collaborate, share, and manage clips via it's new interface.
Final Cut Studio 2 will sell for $1299 or as a $499 upgrade from the previous
version of Final Cut Studio. Final Cut Server will retail for $999 with a 10
user license, or $1999 with an unlimited user license. FInal Cut Studio 2 will
ship next month, while Final Cut Server is not expected to ship until
summer.
