10.4.10 Update Released
Normally I don't blog about the incremental
updates... but this one is a milestone for Mac OS
X.
Apple released the latest Tiger update this
morning, Mac OS X 10.4.10. This is the first time Apple
has broken the cycle of 10.x.x updates and moved to the 10.x.xx format. The last
version of Puma was 10.0.4, Cheetah made it to 10.1.5, and Jaguar stopped at
10.2.8. Panther's last update was 10.3.9, and many predicted Tiger would also
stop at 10.4.9. Originally, the logic was that Apple would have 10.5 oh the
horizon, but after the news at WWDC last week... Leopard will not ship until
October. In any case, the new update improves security, as well as some USB
updates, and better RAW
support.
